Humankind is more human than kind

"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - of whom I am the worst." - 1 Timothy 1:15

I am sinner, more on that, I am the worst of sinners. What does it mean? does it encourages us to compare with each others? absolutely not. Neither compare nor runaway, I rather believe that it does mean like this way:

Every single person already corrupted not only in behavior, and thought, but also in will. This corruption already went to the utmost in every parts of each person (Romans 3:10-20,23). In theology, we call this corruption: Total depravity.

When my seminary teacher said "Humankind is more human than kind", I agree with that. It doesn't mean that humankind have no 'good' deeds in the view of us (as humankind, there are aways come out 'good' deeds or bad deeds as result after compared with others), but, in the view of God, those 'good' deeds have failed to claim as righteousness. As Bible told us: there is no one who does righteousness (Romans 3:10), no one who has the knowledge of what is right (in the view of Truth, not our corrupted mind), no one who is a searcher after God (Romans 3:11), no one who does good (Romans 3:12)!
